December has been a whirlwind of class parties, cookie baking, Christmas crafts, playdates, and, best of all, grown-up fun.
We baked at least eight dozen cookies over the course of a week. After lots of hand washing, all the kids joined in, which made for a very hyper, very fun, very messy kitchen!
Clara and I went to see The Nutcracker together early in December. She was thrilled to see the story come to life, especially her favorite character, Clara! True to form, she asked loudly at a very quiet moment, "Are those dancers human??"
Joey and his good friends Isaiah and Andy got to go on a dads and boys outing and practice their fledgling golf/ monkey skills.
Back at home, we did more baking... of the Shrinky Dink variety. I can't believe what a hit this was for all ages in the house (including 35 year-old Mommy).
The completed Shrinky Dink tree!
The girls performed in their preschool's annual Christmas pageant, and Joey skipped school that morning to attend, along with Grandma and Grandpa. More pictures coming soon of Clara as an angel and Molly as the most petite, but most participatory member of the 2 year-old "choir."
We booked the caboose of the Train of Lights with friends and travelled in festive holiday style from Niles Canyon to Sunol, and back. The kids loved their second-story perch on the caboose car!
Finally, a great group of college girlfriends took time out of a busy holiday month to meet up with Stacey during her trip back to the States. We rented a limo and hit up four wineries in Sonoma, and then ended with dinner and drinks back in the city. Thanks to all the guys at home who had a long Daddy day, watching a combined eleven kids!
