Hoops Times Two

Basketball is turning into the winter sport of choice around here, two times over!

 

Joey loves any chance he can get to show off his guns in a tank top (no, seriously), and will even sprint up and down a court to be able to make that kind of fashion statement. It turns out that he's expert at free throws, and developed quite a rep for staying calm, cool, and accurate!

 

 

Tim helped coach Joey's team, along with three other awesome dads who all agreed to be complete dorks and wear suits with sneakers to the boys' championship game.

 

 

 

These coach/ player conversations look pretty intense.

 

 

Joey is always, and I do mean always, bouncing a ball, throwing a ball, or shooting a ball in our house, and Clara has been sucked into basketball mania, too.. provided she has a cool rainbow basketball (courtesy of Coach Daddy) and a post-game snack.

 

She also loved sporting her headband and her cool basketball socks.

 

 

These three athletes gave it their all, especially when frozen yogurt was the after-game treat!

 

 

And finally, nothing is better than having grandparents in the cheering section!

 

The jury is still out on whether our little shortie will decide to try her hand at basketball, too!

Lovefest 2015

Valentine's Day was a labor of love this year, with all hands on deck! The Cecchin sweatshop produced approximately 60 Valentines for classmates, and then our little workers went above and beyond and made lots of valentines for their colleagues and bosses (aka siblings and parents).

 

 

There was a lot of love in the air. And many crayons were used.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The lovefest continued at school with three different Valentine's Day parties.

 

 

For Clara's class party, she rocked a very Euro look with a poufy scarf and clogs.

 

Molly joined in on Joey's (doesn't every 9 year-old boy want his 4 year-old sister pulling up a chair at his desk?), and aced Valentine's Bingo.

 

 

That Italian Romeo pictured above looked even more swarthy that day because it happened to be Moustache Day at Joey's school.  Luckily his Sharpie facial hair faded fast!

January Jumble

Nothing forces you back into the swing of things after the holidays like the chaos of everyday life with our trio. January was a jumble of basketball games for both Joey and Clara, indoor soccer games for Molly May, a dinner date for Joey and one of his best buddies, Isaiah, an Elsa-themed birthday parties for one of Clara's friends, a meet and greet with a brand-new puppy belonging to Aunt Mariesa and Uncle Mike, and a spiffy new bike for Molly May!

 

Ice, Ice Babies

Real ice and snow are hard to find this year, but we found the next big thing in early January, and headed to Walnut Creek's outdoor skating rink. Cheers to more independent skaters (and less backbreaking work for mom and dad)!
