Oops

PSA for the Day: Did you know that a diet high in raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries can lead to tooth decay? I didn't either.

Don't be alarmed... we're dealing with an extreme situation here, and your child's fruit consumption might not merit the same kind of "talking-to" we received from our dentist today, regarding one 4 year-old girl who has an unhealthy love affair with fruit.

Five -- yes, FIVE -- cavities later, we left with strict instructions to floss, rinse with fluoride, and stay away from farmer's markets.

Luckily, her brother and sister checked out fine, proving that we don't have a house full of sugar and soda. We came away with this winning Polaroid photo from Molly's first visit...

...and Joey had the privelege of announcing to our dentist (that's him above, and yes, he wears crazy Hawaiian shirts) that he had just lost his FIFTH tooth the day before.  He's quickly turning into a toothless old crone in need of dentures. If his six year molars weren't making their appearance, the dentist might not have had any work to do at all!

We are blaming the berries, and not the jelly beans????

Ha! She doesn't like jelly beans anymore! Weird but true.
